Overview
Hope and Clay served as the Principal Contractor for the A34 Milton Interchange Improvement project, a critical initiative designed to improve traffic flow and safety through substantial infrastructure upgrades.
Project Scope
The detailed scope of works included:
Road Widening and Gyratory Improvements: Expansion of the existing A4130 from two lanes to four lanes under a Section 278 agreement, along with the addition of an extra lane on the gyratory under the A34 and modifications to the slip roads.
Signalised Junctions: Installation of three new signalised junctions to enhance traffic management and safety.
Traffic Management: Implementation of robust traffic management measures to maintain existing traffic flows and minimise disruptions to road users during construction.
Signage and Street Lighting: Provision of new signage and modern street lighting to ensure safe and efficient navigation throughout the upgraded network.
Attenuation Basin: Development of an attenuation basin to manage stormwater effectively as part of the drainage enhancements.
Gabion Stone Basket Wall: Installation of a gabion stone basket retaining wall to support the existing embankment.
