Hope and Clay were appointed as the Main Contractor for the North Whiteley Infrastructure Development. This project involved the construction of key infrastructure elements, including new S38 roads, a 50-metre twin-span bridge, road culverts, and a new sub-station built to SSE specifications. The works provided critical connectivity and utility services for the development.
Project Scope
The detailed scope of works included:
S38 Road Construction: Delivery of 1.8km of new S38 road works, complete with drainage and utility installations to service the client’s development parcels.
Bridge and Culverts: Construction of a 50-metre span twin bridge with piled foundations and concrete road culverts to traverse two existing waterways. Collaboration with the Environment Agency ensured all works complied with FRAP permits.
Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS): Installation of attenuation basins and highway swales to effectively manage stormwater runoff from the development.
Sub-Station: Construction of a new sub-station to meet the requirements and specifications of SSE. This included piled foundations, a concrete floor slab, and a brickwork superstructure with a pitched roof.
This project highlights Hope and Clay's expertise in delivering complex infrastructure solutions, meeting stringent environmental standards, and ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
